There are three main methods for installing wood veneers:

1. Air nail installation: This method requires the use of an air compressor and power supply to fix the wood veneer to the base layer through air nails. However, the biggest drawback of air nail installation is that nail holes need to be repaired, and installation standardization cannot be achieved. In addition, the installation quality of the veneer depends largely on the quality and work attitude of the workers and painters. In addition, after the veneer is installed for several years, it is easy for the nail hole repair layer to fall off, or the veneer to warp due to loose nails.

2. Dry hanging method: The dry hanging method, also known as the empty hanging method, is to hang the veneer directly on the wall or hang it on the steel frame through metal hangers, without gluing. This method sets the main force points on the main structure, fixes the board to the building through metal hangers, and forms a wooden decorative wall. The dry hanging method is suitable for use in occasions with large areas and thicker and heavier wood veneers, which is convenient for later disassembly and maintenance operations.

3. Gluing method: The gluing method is to install the decorative panel on the base layer with glue and hanging strips after the ground is completed in the later stage of decoration. This method is the most common method in China at present. It is suitable for all small-area, thin wood veneer joints that need to be fully covered. The adhesive method is easy to operate and has low labor costs for installation, but it has high requirements for the base.

Each method has its applicable scenarios and advantages and disadvantages. Choosing the appropriate installation method depends on the specific construction conditions and design requirements.
