When installing PVC marble slabs, to ensure the firmness and durability of its adhesion, you need to start from the following aspects:
1. Base treatment
Cleaning and drying
First, make sure that the surface of the base is clean and free of debris. Dust, oil stains and loose old coatings will affect the bonding effect of glue and base. You can use a broom to sweep the dust, wipe the oil stains with a damp cloth, and use appropriate detergents to clean stubborn stains. After cleaning, make sure that the base is completely dry. For example, when installing PVC marble slabs on the kitchen wall, pay special attention to removing the oil stains on the wall, because the kitchen wall is often exposed to oil smoke. If the oil stains are not cleaned, the bonding force of the glue will be greatly reduced.
The degree of dryness is also critical. Generally, the moisture content of the base is required to be no more than a certain proportion (usually 10% - 15%). A hygrometer can be used to detect the moisture content of the base. In an environment with high humidity, dehumidification equipment can be used or ventilation time can be extended to reduce the humidity of the base.
Smooth and solid
The surface of the base should be flat, and the flatness error generally does not exceed 3 - 5mm. If the base is not flat, the PVC marble slabs are prone to hollowing, warping and other problems after pasting. For uneven bases, cement mortar or putty can be used for leveling. For example, when renovating an old wall, if the wall is obviously uneven, first fill the concave part with cement mortar, and then use sandpaper or a grinder to grind the convex part to make it flat.
The base also needs to have sufficient strength to withstand the weight of the PVC marble slab. If the base strength is insufficient, such as a loose aerated concrete wall, it may be necessary to reinforce the wall first, such as applying an interface agent or adding a wire mesh.
